2010 Annual Meeting
Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s annual meeting, March 5-6, 2010, at the Hotel Hersey in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Dr. John Canady, past president of ASPS will be the guest speaker. Topics at this year’s meeting will include a malpractice update and a panel discussion on tips and tactics for plastic surgeons in an economic turndown. Watch your email for further details.

Examiners Needed for Mock Orals
The Ivy Society is looking for volunteers to be examiners for the Mock Orals at Hershey, prior to the Annual Meeting

Examiners must be Board Certified, and can’t be examiners with the ABPS.

Opposition to Proposed Cosmetic Surgery Tax
At the request of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Robert H. Ivy Society signed on to a letter opposing Sec. 9017, Excise Tax on Elective Cosmetic Medical Procedures in the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, the Senate’s health reform package. Due to the efforts of many, the proposed tax on cosmetic surgery has been replaced by a proposed 10% tax on tanning salon sessions.
